Background

The development of digitalization today has grown rapidly from time to time, developers continue to make innovations based on information technology in order to continue to help users in completing daily activities. Various sectors have penetrated by utilizing information technology. The development of digital culture can contribute to the progress of a nation's society by giving birth to a digital society in interacting, thinking, and behaving. Almost all sectors in the industrial era 5.0 have digitized. Major changes motivate artists and educators in the process of creating works and teaching and learning practices. Just as in the virtual world (AI and VR) has shifted the role of art educators, artists, and designers. In this case, technology can bring benefits by encouraging higher living standards and providing better living comfort for people, as well as being a challenge for them in utilizing the sophistication of information technology. This is an issue raised in the implementation of ICADE 6 which carries the theme  "Digital Culture in Art and Design Education to Improve the quality of Education and Society."

ICADE 6th supports ASEAN countries' target of digital transformation inclusivity for the economic digital community of ASEAN in 2045. ICADE 6^th aims to bring together education practitioners, academic artists, leading art and design researchers, as well as local and international scholars to exchange and share their ideas, experiences, and research results on digital culture to improve the quality of art and art education that will also have an impact on the progress of society. The experts' talks will present and discuss various things related to innovation, novelty, and crucial problems and how solutions must be done in the current digital era in the field of art and design education.

The 6th International Conference on Arts and Design Education (ICADE) is a conference organized by the Faculty of Art and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This conference will be held on September 20, 2023 and will be held in  offline attendance. ICADE's activities have covered a wide range of topics on music, dance, drama, visual arts, visual communication design, art education, film and television, and multidisciplinary arts fields.

The scope of activities of this conference is related to various activities in digital culture in art, art and design education by art and design educators, artists, or designers in innovating both in the field of teaching and related digital media to art and creation and design studies
